Attock Refinery Limited (ARL) marked its, Annual Safety Week 2026 held April 27-30, 2026 in line with International Labour Organization’s (ILO) World Day for Safety and Health at Work theme: “Ensuring a Healthy Psychosocial Working Environment.”
ARL has been observing Safety Week for over two decades, reflecting its enduring commitment towards health, safety and environmental stewardship.
Following the opening ceremony, which was graced by the CEO, safety walk was conducted by refinery employees, demonstrating steadfast commitment and dedication towards promoting a safety-first culture throughout the refinery. The activity reinforced collective responsibility in maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.
Throughout Safety Week, safety talks were conducted across all departments, focusing on the theme of psychosocial well-being. These sessions aimed to enhance awareness regarding mental health, workplace stress, and the importance of a supportive work environment, while actively engaging employees at all levels.
Moreover, classroom sessions were conducted on a range of critical and modern-day topics, including “Psychosocial Safety at Workplace: Myth vs. Reality,” “Transforming ARL into a Smart Refinery: AI-Enabled Predictive Safety, Reliability and Operational Excellence,” “Human Factors in Process Safety: The Hidden Risk in Operations,” and “Safety Precautions During Preventive Maintenance of Rotary Equipment.” These sessions were designed to strengthen both behavioral and operational aspects of safety within the refinery.
In addition, ARL collaborated with Rescue 1122 to conduct an interactive session on “Psychosocial Working Environment and Emergency Services,” highlighting the role of emergency responders in managing workplace incidents while addressing psychosocial factors during emergencies.
